NHCA's is proud to announce that will be taking part of MBDA National Med Week Conference this year in Washington, D.C.
The workshop “Best Practices for Minority Contractors” is indented to provide useful information to the minority contractor and subcontractor that is looking to step up and success in today’s economy. It will take place on Thursday, September 29, from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m.
Brief overview of the session topics that will be discussed:
1. Securing Bonding We will examine the financial and professional requirements needed to obtain bonding with a step-by-step instruction on how to build capacity from the bid process to the performance of the contract and to the default mechanism. We will look at other alternatives including letters of credits.
2. Access to Capital for Contractors A financial expert from both the public and private sectors will explain the rules and groundwork needed to qualify for both government sponsored and private equity loans.
3. Teaming/Joint Ventures The focus will be on how to develop a workable and legal framework for joint ventures and what are the best and worse arrangements for teaming. There will be a case study to graphically explain the legalese and financial ramifications and benefits of joint ventures.
4. Success Stories A very successful and well know Hispanic contractor, will share his story with the public. He will tell the secrets about how he managed to do his homework by the book and remained up on top of the ladder of success for many years.
